    Clair at Puesto is an absolute gem! From the moment we were seated, she made us feel so taken care of—genuinely warm, attentive without being overbearing, and somehow always one step ahead of what we needed. Her recommendations were spot-on (get the tacos and margs she suggests, trust me), and she kept the vibe fun and effortless the entire time.     I’ve tried an asparagus taco and mushroom taco without cheese and a piece of avocado instead that our server kindly offered me as a substitution. I loved them! Potato taquitos that came with delicious cabbage salad mix with guacamole tasted good but had cheese inside (filling is premade and cannot be taken out). 2 main rooms with good service, with drinks would be around 50 per person.

    Possibly the best mexican food I have eaten in a restaurant. The venue has really vibrant decor with great atmosphere that matches La Jolla’s coastal vibe. The spicy margaritas are AMAZING, combined with the food which is both generous in portion and bursting with flavour. Street tacos are highly recommended. If you like mexican, this is easily a must visit place for lunch or dinner - I already want to go back!!

    We went on a Saturday night and it was very crowded, but luckily we had a reservation and didn’t have to wait long. We started with the esquite and nogada — the nogada was a surprisingly nice mix of guacamole, fruit, and nuts served with chips. For the main course, we had a variety of tacos: chicken, filet mignon, and short ribs. All were very good, fresh, and flavorful. Service was friendly, though a bit on the slower side, likely because of how busy it was. Overall, a great experience. I’d definitely come back if I’m in La Jolla again.

    Excellent experience at this establishment! Betsy was a gem of a server and did an amazing job of recommending the best margaritas and tacos! The food featured fresh ingredients and was mindfully crafted! We will be back!

    This place has amazing street tacos. I had a fried fish, a shrimp, and a lobster Taco. I also had a secret menu taco that the waitress told me about: Filet Mignon California Taco. All these street tacos are four huge bites and are loaded. The chips, salsa, and guacamole were just as good. Staff and service were amazing. Kelsey Jo took great care of us.

    Nice place for upscale Mexican in a laid back setting. Service was friendly and welcoming. Food is really good! We had a few different tacos which were all amazing. Watermelon margaritas were so refreshing, ask for level 2 heat if you want to add a little spice. Buen provecho!

    Stopped in for a late lunch and sat at the bar. The bartenders were great, they know their menu as well as being able to make very good drinks. The food was amazing, the optional salsa add-on with the chips and salsa is spectacular. Highly recommend it.
